Salary: In the region of £100,000 to £110,000, depending on skills and experience

Wembley Multi-Academy Trust (WMAT) is a high-performing, inclusive and ambitious London trust serving over 3,000 children and young people across primary, secondary and post-16 education. The Trust comprises three schools and a Teaching School Hub. Its three schools are highly popular learning communities where academic excellence sits alongside breadth of education. With anticipated annual turnover of £28m, healthy reserves and a clear strategy for 2026–2029, WMAT is well positioned for its next phase of growth and development.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, strategic and commercially minded leader to provide strong financial and operational leadership across WMAT. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership Team, the new CFOO will be a trusted adviser who translates the Trust’s strategy into sustainable plans and confident investment decisions. They will lead the finance function and provide oversight of health and safety, estates, IT and catering, ensuring that resources and services support excellent education and greater opportunity for every student.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a strong track record of senior financial leadership in a complex organisation, including strategic planning, statutory reporting, financial control and risk management. They will be a values-led and collaborative professional, bringing commercial judgement, intellectual rigour and the ability to communicate complex matters clearly. They will balance financial discipline with organisational ambition, challenge constructively, build trusted relationships and develop high-performing teams while continually improving systems, processes and professional standards.
