The Opportunity

We are working with an ambitious UK construction and property consultancy looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to its Birmingham team, supporting the continued development of its infrastructure capability.

Having grown to more than 150 professionals across seven UK offices, the business combines a national project portfolio with a hands-on, director-led approach. Its expansion has been supported by longstanding client relationships, major project wins and strategic framework appointments across the public and private sectors.

For an experienced Project Manager with a highways or wider infrastructure background, this is an opportunity to take on greater responsibility, build strong client relationships and contribute to the development of a growing team. The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful management and delivery of infrastructure projects, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include

• Leading projects through key stages of the project lifecycle
• Managing programme, risk, cost, quality and overall project objectives
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
• Coordinating multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams
• Supporting project governance, reporting and decision-making
• Managing project risks, issues and change
• Supporting procurement and consultant appointments
• Working within NEC contract environments where required
• Building strong client relationships and supporting repeat business
• Providing guidance and support to junior members of the project management team

About You

We are looking for an established Project Manager who can operate confidently with clients, take ownership of delivery and contribute ideas as the team develops.

You are likely to bring

• Experience delivering highways, transportation or major infrastructure projects
• A strong project management background, ideally within a consultancy or client-side environment
• Experience managing projects across multiple stages of the project lifecycle
• Good understanding of project controls, including programme, risk, change and reporting
• Experience working with multiple technical and commercial stakeholders
• Knowledge of NEC contracts, which would be highly beneficial
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider project team
• A relevant construction, engineering or project management qualification
• Professional accreditation, or progress towards accreditation, would be advantageous
