The Opportunity

We are seeking a newly qualified, confident, dedicated and hardworking Criminal Duty Solicitor to join our criminal defence practice on a consultancy basis.

The successful candidate will primarily undertake Magistrates' Court hearings across England and Wales, with additional responsibilities and working arrangements to be discussed and agreed.

This opportunity is suited to a motivated legal professional who is confident in their advocacy skills, takes pride in their work and is committed to delivering excellent criminal defence representation.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales with a current practising certificate.
• Police Station Accredited — Mandatory.
• Duty Solicitor Accredited — Mandatory.
• Confident and competent in independently conducting Magistrates' Court hearings.
• Willing and able to attend Magistrates' Court hearings nationwide.
• Excellent advocacy, communication and client-care skills.
• Professional, reliable, dedicated and hardworking.
• Strong understanding of criminal law and criminal defence procedures.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high professional standards.

Applicants must already hold the required police station and duty solicitor accreditations.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients at Magistrates' Court hearings across England and Wales.
• Provide professional criminal defence advice and advocacy.
• Protect clients' legal rights throughout the relevant proceedings.
• Maintain professional standards and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Undertake additional criminal defence duties as mutually agreed.
