Location: Reading, Berkshire

Salary: Up to £45,452 per annum, including shift allowance and scheduled Saturday overtime

OTE: Up to £58,375, with potential to reach £60,375 through an eligible EV qualification uplift

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 40 hours per week, alternating early and late shifts, plus one Saturday morning in three

ISQ Recruitment is recruiting an experienced HGV Service Technician for a well-established commercial vehicle business in Reading. With demand continuing to grow, this is an opportunity to join a supportive workshop team, develop your technical skills through manufacturer training and increase your earnings through bonus and overtime.

You'll carry out varied servicing, maintenance and repair work, helping keep customers' vehicles safe, reliable and ready for the road.

Salary and Earnings

• Basic salary of up to £40,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Annual shift allowance of £3,000.
• Scheduled Saturday overtime providing an additional £2,452 per year.
• Annual bonus potential of £6,000.
• Additional overtime earning potential of approximately £6,923 per year, based on five extra hours per week where available.
• Combined earning potential of up to £58,375.

An eligible IMI Level 3 or Level 4 EV qualification could attract a further £2,000 on your basic salary, taking potential earnings to £60,375. Evidence of qualifications will be required.

OTE depends on bonus achievement and additional overtime availability.

Working Hours

Alternating Weekly Shifts

• Early shift: Monday to Friday, 6am-3pm.
• Late shift: Monday to Friday, 1pm-10pm.
• Both shifts include a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
• Saturday rota: One in three Saturdays, 8am-12pm.

Your Responsibilities

• Complete HGV servicing, routine maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Identify mechanical faults and carry out appropriate repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation.
• Work with colleagues to complete jobs efficiently and meet agreed deadlines.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and follow workshop health and safety procedures.

What You'll Bring

• At least three years' hands-on experience as an HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic.
• A relevant technical qualification or proven practical experience.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• An organised approach and the ability to manage a varied workload.
• Clear communication skills and a willingness to support your team.
• The right to work in the UK.
