As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our Design Engineering Team.
The Role
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineered solutions by interpreting customer specifications and translating them into robust designs. You will work across the full design lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture, supporting customer enquiries while ensuring delivery to agreed quality, cost and schedule requirements.
This role is well suited to an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in the design and application of mechanisms and mechanical devices such as linkages, lead screws, hydraulic systems and pistons, used for the transfer of motion and force.
Key Expertise
· A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
· Experienced user of 3D CAD for design and drafting.
· Conceptual & detailed design skills.
· Design for Manufacture & Assembly.
· Experience of designing high pressure equipment to industry standards.
· Ability to produce detailed design calculations and reports.
· Experienced in the use of Finite Element Analysis.
· An understanding of materials and their applications, metals in particular.
· Familiarity in the use of Geometrical Design and Tolerancing (GD&T).
· To have a pro-active attitude and be able to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Knowledge of using an MRP System (e.g. Visual, Syteline) to produce BOM’s.
· Experience of using a Quality management system database.
· Work to and promote high standards of quality, with a strong focus on safety.
· Knowledge of technical software such as MathCAD and LabView.
· A positive approach with good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· The ability to plan your own activities within a project and be adaptable to changing priorities and demanding deadlines.
· Proficient in the use of MS Office Products, particularly Excel.
