Machine Minder (2x8)

Keep Production Running Safely and Efficiently as a Key Engineering Team Member

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and mechanically minded Machine Minder to support the safe and efficient operation of machinery across our site. Working closely with the Engineering team, you'll ensure equipment is set up correctly, operating effectively and maintained to the highest standards of safety, food quality and performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in engineering who enjoys problem-solving, continuous improvement and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll play a vital role in minimising downtime, supporting production teams and contributing to the overall success of site operations.

Key Duties

• You'll help ensure machinery and equipment operate safely, efficiently and in line with site standards.
• Complete machinery set-ups and changeovers safely and accurately
• Carry out equipment checks in line with food safety and Health & Safety requirements
• Monitor machinery performance and identify potential issues before breakdowns occur
• Report faults and abnormalities and support preventative maintenance activities
• Assist Engineering Technicians with breakdowns, repairs and tool changes
• Support Production, Hygiene and Technical teams through effective machine handovers
• Drive improvements to equipment performance and operational efficiency
• Promote good equipment care and support colleagues in the correct use of machinery

Ideal Candidate

• We're looking for someone who is technically minded, proactive and committed to high standards.
• Experience working within a manufacturing, chilled or frozen food environment
• Mechanically or electrically minded with a genuine interest in engineering
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Able to manage priorities and work effectively within a team environment
• Good communication skills and a commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
