Quantity Surveyor

Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a specialist and well-established engineering and construction business, as they look to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an Quantity Surveyor, with experience in the Steel sector.

This role sits within a fast-paced construction environment and would suit a proactive, detail-focused commercial professional with a background in construction or steelwork quantity surveying. The successful candidate will provide commercial and financial support to the Contract and Project Management team, with particular emphasis on supporting the rail division, helping to monitor costs and resources and enhance contract value through effective financial control and risk management.

There is a competitive remuneration package on offer including a basic salary of up to £65,000, 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays, company pension, comprehensive employee wellbeing support, an early finish every Friday plus more!

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide quantity surveying support to Contract and Project Managers, including the development of contract programmes and maintenance of accurate financial reports
• Administer valuations and the pricing of variations, maintaining cost value reconciliations throughout the contract lifecycle
• Monitor job costings against quoted figures, raising any anomalies with Contract and Project Managers in a timely manner
• Support procurement of goods and services, liaising with the purchasing department and chasing agreement on prices with suppliers and subcontractors
• Liaise and negotiate with clients and the professional team, ensuring applications and final account information are completed accurately and on time
