We are looking for an experienced
Housekeeping & Cleaning Supervisor to support the day-to-day delivery of cleaning and housekeeping services at National Grid Eakring.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for leading the cleaning team, maintaining excellent standards and ensuring planned, periodic and reactive cleaning activities are completed safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the cleaning team, allocating daily tasks and monitoring performance.
- Ensure cleaning schedules and service standards are consistently achieved.
- Carry out regular quality inspections and address any areas falling below standard.
- Undertake cleaning and housekeeping duties when required to support service delivery.
- Support recruitment, induction, training and development of team members.
- Monitor attendance, conduct, performance and holiday cover.
- Deliver toolbox talks and reinforce Health & Safety, COSHH and PPE requirements.
- Monitor cleaning materials, consumables and equipment, ordering stock where required.
- Respond professionally to customer requests, complaints and reactive cleaning requirements.
- Build positive relationships with National Grid stakeholders and site users.
- Identify opportunities to improve cleaning methods, efficiency and the overall customer experience.
- Support the introduction of new equipment, products, technology and innovative ways of working.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have previous cleaning and supervisory experience.
- Be confident leading and motivating a team.
- Have excellent attention to detail and high cleaning standards.
- Be organised, reliable and able to work on their own initiative.
- Have good communication and customer service skills.
- Have a positive, proactive and professional approach.
- Be comfortable working in a hands-on role and supporting cleaning activities when required.
- Have a strong commitment to Health & Safety and continuous improvement.
