We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our team at Woodmansterne Primary School and Nursery, part of Bourne Education Trust.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing highly effective, targeted provision and care to pupils, in support of and under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders, in order to raise standards of achievement for pupils to become independent learners.

Job title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Banstead, Surrey

Contract: Term time, fixed term contract for the rest of the academic year ending July 2027

Hours: 16 hours 40 mins per week (Monday to Friday, 12.00-15.20)

Salary: Support Pay Scale 3 (FTE £25,132; Actual £9295)

Responsible to: Headteacher

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils
  • Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitate the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning
  • Prepare, plan and deliver specific intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil response and needs

Essential

Requirements include

  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification)
  • Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development
