We are now looking for an experienced and passionate Assessor / Tutor to join our team and help shape that journey.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role for someone who is passionate about teaching, assessment, apprenticeships, and learner development.

You will work across a range of programmes including:

  • Residential Childcare (Level 3 & Level 5)
  • Early Years Educator / Practitioner qualifications
  • Education and Teaching Support (e.g. Teaching Assistant, Learning Support)
  • Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • Supported Accommodation with Children and Young People

You will support learners through apprenticeship standards and diploma qualifications, guiding them from induction through to successful completion and End Point Assessment (EPA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment (remote and face-to-face)
  • Conduct workplace observations, professional discussions, and portfolio assessments
  • Support and track learner progress against qualification milestones and EPA requirements
  • Provide clear, constructive, and timely feedback to support achievement
  • Maintain accurate and compliant learner records in line with awarding organisations (e.g. City & Guilds)
  • Prepare learners for End Point Assessment (EPA) success
  • Embed Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, and British Values across delivery
  • Manage a caseload of learners effectively and meet agreed targets
  • Participate in standardisation, CPD, and quality assurance activities

What makes you a great fit

We are looking for a motivated and learner-focused professional who thrives in a flexible, fast-paced education environment.

You will have:

  • Occupational competency in Residential Childcare, Early Years, or Education/Teaching Support
  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area (or above)
  • Assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, TAQA or equivalent)
  • Experience of undertaking assessments in the workplace
  • Understanding of apprenticeship standards, funding rules, and EPA requirements
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
  • Confidence using digital systems and e-portfolio platforms
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally (including occasional overnight stays)

Bonus points if you have

  • Multi-sector experience (Early Years, Childcare, Education)
  • Teaching qualification (AET, CET, PGCE or equivalent)
  • IQA qualification or willingness to work towards Internal Quality Assurance
  • Experience supporting learners through End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Experience with e-portfolio systems
  • Familiarity with apprenticeship compliance and funding audits
