Head of Brand Communications Planning

Expedia Group’s Global Marketing Communications team is dedicated to developing and executing innovative and effective global marketing across our family of brands. Within this organization, the Comms Planning function is responsible for setting the strategic approach for campaigns across our Services brands.

We are seeking an inspiring leader as Senior Director of Comms Planning. An enthusiastic person who can contribute in a team environment and wants to be part of an evolving organisation. This position requires a self-motivated, flexible individual with strong communication and leadership skills.

The role sits at the intersection of ideas and media, partnering closely with the Brand Planners, Creative Directors and media team to ensure our comms ideas are properly integrated across channels. A deep understanding of communications platforms is needed as you will be instrumental in driving the rethinking and reimagining of how Expedia Group communicates to new and existing customers across the world

What you’ll do:

  • Lead day-to-day comms planning across all Expedia Group brands, inspiring a group of strategy, creative, media and brand teams to develop and execute integrated marketing communications efforts for Expedia, VRBO, Hotels.com and our portfolio brands.

  • Partner closely with strategy and creatives so our creative ideas make use of a mix of owned, earned and paid channels.

  • Partner closely with our owned channel teams to ensure that the communication idea is pulled through within social, PR, .com and the app.

  • Partner with the media team to ensure ideas are deployed through the proper mix of paid/owned/earned channels.

  • Help develop consumer journeys for each campaign or activity and articulate them through clear and concise visual presentations.

  • Determine the communications tasks for each campaign and write task briefs that guide messaging and execution tailored for each channel.

  • Create measurable campaign KPI’s.

  • Partner with the Marketing Optimization team to ensure campaigns are being measured, and feed insights and results back into the creative team.

  • Bring an understanding of digital, social and emerging platforms and technologies into the team, regularly and in an inspiring way.

Who you are:

  • A strategist who is both creative and analytical and who can contextualize an idea within the appropriate channels and ultimately ensure that creative execution and media all work seamlessly together.

  • You have strategic and critical thinking skills; ability to see the “big picture” while also diving into details.

  • Someone with excellent visual story-telling skills and presentation skills who can communicate effectively, concisely, and tailored to the audience.

  • Adept at using data to make appropriate decisions on trade-offs and prioritization.

  • Resilient and constructive when faced with change, able to shift approaches when needed in response to unexpected events and circumstances

  • Well organized and detail oriented

  • Ambitious personality who is open to helping with any task

  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
